Memorial Day in the US

God bless all of the men and women serving in the military, along with their families.

If you were ever, or are still a part of the US military, thank you SO MUCH for your service to us and our country.

A couple of weeks ago, Lovely Wife and I went to Viera, Florida, about 15 miles (24km) north of Palm Bay to go to a Select Comfort store. We ended up buying a Sleep Number bed, but afterward walked around the shopping area to go to a couple of other stores.

This flower and the sun trying to look through a hole in the clouds were taken that evening.

By the way, I LOVE the Sleep Number bed. It's much easier on my back so far. But we've only spent a total of five nights in it since it was delivered, so it's too early to declare victory. We also went from sleeping on a queen sized bed to a king after 22 years, and the extra room is welcome too.

The nice photos were just a bonus for being out and about that evening. With my camera of course.

Beautiful captures. The flower is especially lovely.
Maybe we will have to go the sleep number bed route too. Moving might just be the right time to do that.

Hi John, been catching up on your postings. I am glad you found a bed that is good for your back.

Those bugs are nasty. The flowers are lovely. And the train is heavenly, just kidding!

I also stopped by your other blog and enjoyed it too.

Take care and have a good week. Thanks for the train shots.

it helps to carry camera outdoors more often than not, right!!! :)
loved the flower and was reminded of the quote shared by a frd for the second pic , "God putting a penny in the slot to buy us a skyful of stars"

Thanks everyone.

CG: I don't carry my camera everywhere, but I try to. I have to admit, that sometimes as I leave the house I think of my camera and just decide not to take it. I feel guilty when I do that but sometimes I just "ain't in the mood for takin' pictures."

photowannabe: So far, we're loving the Sleep Number bed. It's the most comfortable I've slept in several years.

Mike: Thanks for dropping by. I like trains, but they aren't under my skin like for some of you. They do make excellent photo fodder though.

Moi: That is a fantastic quote. I don't know anything about poetry, but that is a beautiful description of that kind of sky.

Anna: When I first started blogging, I was fiercely anonymous, but have lightened up in the year and a half or so I've been doing it. Our names are on my blog in a few places, but it's easier to just use a place holder instead of names. Lovely Wife is Lovely though.
