I took these yesterday afternoon outside the Brevard County Library branch that I like to go to.
These are white ibis. With all the rain we've been having lately, they've had more worms and bugs coming up for air, as well as tadpoles and whatnot growing in ditches and things.
These almost look as if I used a flash, but I didn't. There was this interesting spotty sunlight coming through the trees behind me and lit the birds beautifully.
These were taken outside a branch of the library here, after checking out a few books on yesterday.
But I had something interesting happen there that I wrote about on my Least Significant Bits blog today, if you care to read it.

Beautiful Capture! I love that orange beak!
I love do way that you take your photos.
As usual beautiful images.
beautiful and i love the patches of sunlight illuminating the birds :)
Thank you Daniel. Thanks Kerri and Moi.
Sometimes a photo just falls in your lap, so to speak.
This big puddle that this and the others were in was about 5 yards/meters from the front of my car and where it was parked at the library.
I had the camera in the car, and I literally stood by the driver's side front bumper when I took these.
Some of the easiest photos I've ever taken. All I had to do was wait for him to turn his head like that, which I can only assume is how they see the things they then poke at with their beaks.
Those are such beautiful photos!! And to think those beautful birds were just hanging out near the library. It looks like you were out in the wilds somewhere. The first shot could be a postcard!
Beautiful blue color sets off the birds wonderfully. I keep seeing some really nice shots for blue theme day.
Very cool pictures! We don't have these kind of birds here, at least not that I know of!!
I visited your other blog....interesting and quite a sign of the times. I posted a library today....I like these pictures of the ibis....they almost look fake!!!
Those are fantastic...and outside a library who would have thunk it?
That curved bill is really unique. Wonderful colors! In the enlarged version it looks like it has a blue eye.
great captures! i, also, love their beaks! such a great assortment of water birds you guys have down there....
Just stunning; i love the light and the colour setting off the birs so well.
