Cape Florida Light House

A couple of 35mm slides from 1998 on Key Biscayne, off the coast from Miami.

That's close and far views of the lighthouse there.

Both photos were taken on one othe most disappointing and most beautiful days I've ever had. I wrote about it in a couple of posts on my other blog if you care to read them. (There's pictures in those posts too.) Post 1 here, and Post 2 here.

just finished reading about the shocker.....i would have been sorely disappointed too, if i had seen a place and loved it before , only to find it does not exist anymore..well the place does, but all that made the place live with me does not...

It's sad when the places we love change. Hurricane Andrew was so destructive. That park still looks like a beautiful place to visit. I would have been disappointed too though, to see that so much had changed.

I like the top one because it's not immediately apparent what it is. It gives the viewer a real sense of how big the lighthouse is once you realize what you're looking at. Very interesting perspective!

That closeup shot with the tree and the lighting is wonderful.
