When I worked for Delta Airlines at DFW Airport in the mid and late 1980s, Delta was under contract to handle the ground operations for the British Airways flights into and out of there.
Like
the British Airways Concorde that I photographed one day at work, I also photographed one of their DC-10s as it sat at the gate.

I rode on one about 1981 I really liked the wide body design.
Reminds me of an "Audio Adrenaline" song called "DC-10"..."what if a DC-10 fell on your head?..."
John,
I hope and pray that things are going better in you and your family's lives, bro.
I remember the Concorde pictures...I had just started visiting your blog back then....:)
and today my FIL send me a scanned copy of an old tattered pic of his mom with her cousin as kids... i wonder if i can ever restore it ....reminded me of you and your love for restoring the old family pics :)
It was one of the old British Caledonian Airways DC10s that BA acquired after they bought BCAL. I used to work for BCAL and flew to Atlanta many times on the DC10s.
Your photos really capture the plane so well.
I never got to fly on one, but in the late 70's I had a job near the New Orleans airport, and the DC-10 was my favorite plane to watch taking off. It had a real steep angle of ascent compared to the other jets.
WOW!!!
We flew by Delta ailines to Caota Rica, nice company and good planes. I don't really know which kind we flwe with, like the shots...

Cool photos. It must have been great to get so 'up close and personal' with the aircraft. And fancy seeing Concorde too! I grew up near where it was built and used to see it a lot!
Ooh! A BA DC-10!?! That's a classic! Now they are being converted to freighters or scrapped in the desert.
My last DC-10 flight was in '03 on Northwest ... Seattle to Honolulu.
