Being a product of the Louisiana public school system, I had neither seen nor heard the word "Scheherazade."
Though I don't trust Wikipedia very much, it's a decent source to look up such things as this.
After reading Wikipedia's entry for Scheherazade, I was totally convinced I had never seen or heard this word, but it was quite interesting to learn about.

I think the only place I've ever heard it is in the Disney movie Aladdin.
Isn't it the most wonderful name? I know the story of the Arabian Nights and there is the most incredible piece of music of the same name by the composer Rimsky-Korsakov.
It is kind of a neat name, on paper at least.
The problem for me is that, with my slow, Souther drawl, it takes a long time to say.
Way too many syllables in that name for me to say properly.
But then again, I could get some humor mileage out of it by saying it for people and letting them laugh at me. I can always revert to the extra slow Southern drawl when I need to go for laughs.
Ah, it's a great name and a great myth :)

i would not have spelt it that way ever.....we back in India spell it as simply as "shehzadi" ...so much simpler but so less fancier too!!! this seems to have a German twist to it .........:DDD
